(Not you Glen, although respect if you are now Robbopop!)

I just had to share this one with you. I know that styling cues for the S go right back to the Grantura but the real design 'grandparent' for our cars was the M series. This must have been an absolutely stunning car at the time, a time when there were some dreadfully boring cars. I think this car is just SO beautiful.

Just a note on values. When I sold my Grantura it was worth a few hundred. It is now worth £20k
I looked at an M when it was worth £800. Lets just see what this goes for.
Only a few years ago you could pick up an S for well under £2k (I did), now what are they worth, and they are only just coming out of 'sleeper' stage. Any car as good looking as an S and as much fun to own is bound to appreciate, but it needs to 'come of age'. I think the S is just doing so.

Yes, I guess £8k is in the right area but as a couple of V6 S's have now achieved that amount it should be worth a bit more. Admitted the smaller 1.6 engine is against it.

It's a Stage 4 Rally tuned 1.7 that hasn't been run in yet! Freshly built in 1995!
I imagine that it will go quite well when properly run in. smile

IIIRC they bored out to 1760 back in the day.

If it's that highly tuned it's strange it's still on the single twin choke carb rather than a pair of side draft Webers.
Those engines do rev nicely if set up right, and a lot lighter than an Essex,so perhaps not really the poor relation of a 3000M.
