Worth that for the straight throttle plate alone!

Here's my theory... that looks like the end of the throttle cable for an automatic (bigger, clumpier than normal) so the automatics had the straight plate to give a snappier response to get the gearbox to "kick down" when accelerating?

(typical scrap yard removal, every pipe and cable just cut through) wink

Wow, a little steep.... Are they rare enough to command that price? Maybe I was a little hasty in giving my old engine away. But the space was welcome , that is until my son decided to strip down his R32 Golf in the garage!!! So have even less room than before. grumpy

Errrrr, NO! They come up pretty regularly on ebay and £250 is about the going rate for a good engine ready to fit, £150 or less for one that has been stored. The one that is in my S now (2.8) cost me £100 and went straight in, it is a little tired but Glenrobbo will tell you it goes well enough and will be staying in until I finally get the time to build the new one.

If it can be proved to have only 29k on it, and it hasnt been standing around rusting inside, then it would be worth more, given the cost of rebuilding one.
