Hi everyone,

I'm after a good secondhand exhaust pipe for my TVR S2.
How much do you reckon I should pay?

My current exhaust is very strange, the first part is made of mild steel, the middle section from stainless steel and the final part from mild steel. Funnily enough it is the middle section in stainless steel which is damaged.
Thanks for your help.

Best regards,

Geoffrey

Hi Geoffrey,
This seems to have been overlooked, I apologise on behalf of all the S fraternity. wink
You would be very lucky indeed to find a second hand S2 exhaust system, the choice is to either buy new from ACT or TVRParts, or get yours repaired.
What is the damage to yours? It sounds as if yours is non-standard, as the usual system has the manifolds, the downpipes ( hockey sticks ) and then the rest should be one piece.

Just a thought, it may be worth contacting David Gerald Sportscars in Redditch. They are currently breaking an S Series and may still have the exhaust for sale.
I think it was on an ebay auction a couple of weeks ago, but I don't know if it sold.

Easy enough to make your own centre box - I made a complete system which I have been told sounds very nice (completely by accident!) try Jetex or similar

Hi Glenrobbo and Magpies,

Thank you for your replies.

I got in contact with David Gerald Sportscars (very friendly and helpful), he sold it for.

I confirm, the rest of my exhaust pipe is in one piece, but curiously the first part is in mild steel, the middle section in stainless steel and the last part in mild steel. The rear of the middle section (silencer) below has been badly repaired and that is where there is a leak. Moreover, there is something rattleling in the middle section (silencer), there must be something broken. Therefore, I'm not sure it is worth repairing.

I have found this exhaust for sale in Somerset:
https://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/tvr...

Does anyone live close to Wedmore in Somerset and would be kind enough to pop to this place to check the state of the exhaust for me?

Magpies, I'm not equipped to carry out that type of work.

Best regards,

Geoffrey

Hi Geoffrey,
I think the Wedmore item is for an S3, S2 tail pipes run parallel.
Someone will be along to correct this if I'm wrong.
I know someone near Wedmore if you want to check it out

Hi Alan,,

I currently have the same exhaust pipe on mine. So it is the wrong type?
Could anyone post a picture of an S2 exhaust pipe?

Best regards,

Geoffrey

This looks OK for an S2. My S2 had an exhaust with the same shape as this one.
At £95 looks like a good deal too !

My S2 has parallel pipes too, but I see no reason why that wouldnt fit. I presume the bent pipes are to allow better access to components (handbrake adjuster?)
