I would like to fit an oil temp gauge - although I have a Cossy V6 I'm sure it is very much similar to the 12v. Is there a position for easy installation of the sender?

Hi Mick, I presume you are running without an oil cooler so you cant T it into the input pipe to the cooler? I think you would really have to get it into the sump by getting a suitable threaded boss welded/brazed in. The only existing external point I can think off is the pressure sensor mounting point, it would be possible (with difficulty as space is tight) to put a T to that but that wouldnt necessarily give a true oil temp reading?

Hi Mick.
I would try Burtons, they could know.

A sandwich plate would be ideal but unless the filter position is different to the 12v I don't think you'll get one in? Time for a remote filter kit!

On my engine I put a tee piece in where the oil sender screws in so I could also have an oil light, tight but can be done.

Plan 3 would be getting a suitable insert for the sensor welded into the sump, or better still go dry sump wink

Best bet then would be a remote take off (if no room for a plate). Don't think you can get a off the shelf dry sump kit for these engines. If you could would be up to 2K and above.

You used to be able to get a fitting that went in the oil pressure switch hole to give 2 connections, 1 for the switch and one for a pressure gauge sender.
Burtons again probably best bet, although you might want it in a main oil gallery rather than off at the end of a switch fitting point?
