I've always thought there is a lot of weight hanging off the end of a very long bolt. I bought one of these but didn't like to use it.

Agree with Joe, Philpott's or Terry's bolt on mods are the best.

Steve, that's Norman's drawings for replacing the original hinges with stainless ones, the hinge pivot point stays the same.
For the "wide open" mod you need to move the position of the hinge pivot point forward and down.
Of all the mods I've seen, Terry's bolt on bracket solution still retains the original chassis mountings and so leaves the option of reverting to standard if desired.
All the others have chopped and modified the original mounts somewhat.
Magpies has done a sketch of his solution on this forum, but I can't find it, the search is useless nowadays.

Up to you which way you do it, have fun! smile

Terry, does your mod involve chopping a piece out of the lower part of the bonnet?

Not allowed donuts? Given up fags? No Bronco or Izal to use as tracing paper?
I dunno Steve, the world's gone mad! silly
You'll have to think outside of the envelope. And if you run out of space, use the inside as well. smile
