I've just seen a full 2.8 V6 Cologne Turbo Technics kit for sale in my neck of the woods. Asking price is £1200, and it's the complete kit.. Anyone done this to their S1 before.??

Sorry, got confused I read S1 and though you wanted it for the 2.8. Have you put a 2.9 in your S1 then?

Confusion Joe... I have the 2.9 in my S3c but I was just letting the S1 guys on here know there's a turbo conversion for sale.. I was curious if anybody had actually done this to an S before...

Turbo kit would be far more interesting than "just another V8"

Like Bob I thought the chassis rails were wider/different to take the V8 but there again Duncan dropped one in his trials car?

Pretty certain chassis rails are the same.
V8S has 40mm or so extra track width which is entirely from the different wishbones and trailing arms.
There is a rail under the engine that is different (the one that gets cut out for gearboxes}.

Anyway I'll raise you - a V8 with a turbo, or two if you like!

Yep, they're the same.
Half the extra track is in the wishbones, the other half is in the mounting points on the chassis but the tubes the mounts are attached to are the same distance apart.

My turbo expert suspects that turbo technics pair are shot.

Has anyone managed to install a twin turbo kit on either the 2.8 or 2.9 Cologne in the S?

I can tell you they will be shot, rebuild or replace with 2 new turbos, easy job to do
