Not sure if anybody has been to this event, I think the first one was last year. A friend of mine went and said it was quite a show, closed roads through Oundle where there's plenty of stone buildings to reflect the noise.!! Apparently, there were a few TVR's too. I'll hopefully be going if I can drag myself out of the armchair. Don't think I'll get in too run though as I've left it a bit late but it looks like it could be a good show... biggrin

mmm...looks interesting...perhaps we can get a part-restored TVR (without engine) into the soap box event wink

not the event it was last year - have you seen the latest update?

What changes have we made to the 2015 Oundle Classic Sprint you ask? Simple. We’ve complied with the legal framework that will apply for this year only. This includes (but is not limited to):
20mph speed limit, to comply with local traffic laws.
Strictly NO wheel spinning, drifting, or activities defined as ‘driving without due care and attention’.
Non-road legal vehicles will not be allowed to transit the public highway, even on closed roads. (Non-road legal vehicles will definitely be at the event, but only on a static display basis – sorry folks!)

You're right. Sounds like it's going to be a bit of a wet f__t! Probably won't bother this year then.. frown

What this event needs is a very loud Wedge roaring through the town at a substantial rate of leptons, with a special Spirit of Ecstasy flying mascot with flapping cheeks wink

That should liven things up a bit, eh Tel? biggrin

Obviously, to comply with the local Health & Safety Regulations, there would have to be a man in a hi-viz suit* walking along in front waving a red flag.

  • or a pink onesie and orange balaclava. smile
