S3 chassis repairs - And the winner is...
Discussion
Hi Guys...
In common with several other S owners, I too am currently working on chassis restoration.
Over many years of hobby resto work, I have come to terms dealing with & cutting out rot whatever the marque is (as rot doesn't discriminate).
What does still surprise me (& bl**dy annoy me) is when someone spends so much time & effort on a bad, & downright dangerous 'botch job'. Which of course could not be seen at all from below.
Oh, well its all on the floor now, soon to be consigned to the bin (& not for recycling).
TB.

Honest rot !

Previous repair, look closer...

What can I say !

My efforts.

Lets put it this way, my angle grinder is 'smokin' !
And the welder is 'glowin' !!
Any area that is void of, or has loose powercoat gets the attention of my large punch aided by my 2lb Brummie screwdriver. And anything that dents (or just sounds wrong) gets cut out & consigned to the bin.
Oh, I know I will have plenty of the large diameter tubing spare, that's the rear swinging arm support tubing (the ones that have the x2 pairs of bush brackets on). So reply here if you need any. I'm in South Staffs WS7.
