Hi chaps , found my master cylinder is not looking very pretty and been looking for a new one , struggling to find one using the parts list and alternative parts finder , ebay not looking too good as well .
Tvr specialists seem to have some but prices go up to £180 , anyone have any ideas about sourcing one for a reasonable price .....
Cheers
Paul.

Doesn't look very pretty but it's only surface rust and peeling powder coat? If working ok (not leaking) I'd settle for some wire brushing and a lick of paint wink

Hi mike , the rear pipe outlet has actually rotted through and the outer sleeving has split , it's not leaking ....yet ....but it definitely needs to be replaced .
After what I've spent so far this year I can assure you I would happily cleaned it up and gave it a lick of paint !!
Luckily the servo is ok and just needs a clean and paint .
Cheers
Paul.

Is this the correct one?

Or second hand?

(it's early, don't shoot me if I've hurriedly chosen the wrong ones, but they are available by the look of it)

Hi Mike ,
cheers for the reply , I don't think the new one in your first link is the correct one as although it has the correct cylinder bore its pipe ports are in the wrong place and also im not sure the pipe sizes are correct on the other side .
The second hand one looks a lot more like it , I will keep an eye on it but I really would prefer new if I can get one as I have just replaced most of the braking system already .
cheers for the help , by the way I like the shot of your s and the spitfire .
cheers ,
paul.

hi guys ,
just sourced a new master cylinder from Brakeparts.co.uk , part number BMC4230 , for £55 delivered , its an 89-96 mk3 fiesta xr2i item with 22.2mm bore and the correct size pipe outlets [ for my car anyway ] .
No connection with the seller , just hopefully the correct part for a good price.
Hope this helps.
cheers

Paul.

Bloody hell , I thought they might have had a few in stock ! , I'm happy to have got one for my car , its just a shame that its not helping anyone else though. Maybe worth getting in touch with them to see if anymore might be coming into stock if you need one , otherwise back to the searching online.
cheers
Paul.

When I was sorting my master cylinder I got one of the Fiesta units from Racetech , they are based near Henley on Thames , I actually needed the Saab unit so I sent it back.

I had one of these master cylinders from the same company for my Chimaera three weeks ago. They are TRW part number PMH974 and are the same as the ones supplied by TVR parts suppliers but a lot cheaper. If you are desperate you could give TRW a call but I should imagine Brake Parts will probably be getting more stock as they are new items not old stock.

Hi guys...

I have just rung Brakeparts. They say they do have BMC4230 in stock. But just to be different I enquired about BMC4892. They stated this is an equivalent, the only difference being 4x 10mm ports as apposed to 2x 10/12mm threaded ports. So being as I'm totally replacing my braking system, mine is going fully 10mm metric. Plus Fiesta 887/8 calipers, & 278 discs of course !!

Hi Fozzy

Don't know if you've managed to source your brake master cylinder. I had to replace my clutch master and slave for the S2 a few years back and found Power Track Limited extremely helpful in identifying TVR parts replacements and quite competitive on price. They're in Windsor, but do a mail order service and can be reached on 01753 842680.

I did get one from Brakeparts as above last week, so worth a check with them.
