After 8 or so years of being sat idle..

..she finally rolled back out of the garage earlier this afternoon.
Reconnect a charged battery, drop in a gallon of fresh petrol, check oil & water, inflate the tyres, a couple of tentative prods of the starter and then go for it - she fired up after less than 10 seconds and ran as though she'd never been laid up.
Checked the lights, gave her a long overdue quick wash and managed to find an MOT station that was still open at 5pm.
Certainly wasn't expecting a pass, but willing to sacrifice £35 to know what would require fixing.
An hour later - two cable ties to secure the flexi-pipes in the engine bay, a headlight angle adjust and the re-seat of a stroppy fog light bulb and she passed, with very complimentary comments from the tester.
Scenic route taken on the way home, and very enjoyable it was too.
Happy days indeed..
