I may be teaching granny to suck eggs here, but I recall doing research on high temp paints (admittedly for manifold painting), and they often failed as they require very good cleaning a preparation to stand any chance of working...

i think you're right, the VHT paint for manifolds will last just minutes unless applied to clean, as in sandblasted, metal. Wire brushing is not sufficient.Edited by phillpot on Thursday 16th June 23:33
