My car has Gaz golds fitted around 2006 but the fronts particularly are looking pretty manky. The adjuster looks pretty much siezed solid.

Worth sending back to Gaz for refurb or given they're 11 years old time to replace?

Tried asking Gaz to quote for a rebuild? That'll tell you whether it's worthwhile.

I had my GGP's as fitted to my Tuscan refurbed by GAZ. They charged £50 a corner including new road springs.

They were only 4~5 years old though. Pretty quick turnaround, think they had them 6/7 working days...... What I did find out later is that the lower rose joints quickly dried out leading to a loud 'creaking'. Easily enough sorted though with a bit of copper-lube and the units off the car.

Get the OE ones refurbished, should be good for another 80,000 miles/20 years laugh

Ironically the GAZ Shocks came off the car yesterday, and if GAZ can do a refurb job for me that would be just great. The car has been standing for a few years and 3 out of 4 have leaking seals. I will let you know how I get on.

For reference, this is the quote this morning from Gaz to refurb the shocks on a TRV S

"to service your dampers they will cost £26.50 each & this will include new oil, seals, guides, damping adjuster knobs but if any of the piston rods are damaged & need replacing then they are extra, all + carriage & vat."

I think this looks like great value against buying new, all done for less than £150 unless you need other parts.
