radiator repair in suffolk/ east anglia

Hi guys
Need a bit of help with getting my radiator fixed, perhaps I am getting old, but just took my S2 radiator out after noticing a leak and to a local repair shop in Ipswich and was quoted £250 plus vat to re-core/ restore and was shocked....... does that sound expensive or am I just behind the times!!!!

Anyone know a good reliable firm who don't charge silly money to restore radiator?

I fitted one of these to my S3C. Not much modification needed to fit it, nice and shiny, and very light. And I've still got the old one to recore in the future. I was quoted £250-350 to recore by Arrow, locally. But look at the price of this one!

If it is just one or two leaks due to stone damage rather than all corroded it could be repaired...I took mine to the local Express Radiators in Norwich and they got their guy to do it a low cost - cant remember how much now, but i'm sure it was well less than 100 pounds. - he dunked it in their water tank to find the leak and any others, and then brazed it up.

Have a look on eBay at item no. 232328935519 Genuine TVR S radiator for 1/2 the cost.

Many thanks for the reply's and the link, but not sure that would fit, as my one has the retaining/ locating pins top an bottom, with a bracket from top that then connects in front of the radiator to two flanges.

I will probably end up getting mine re cored.

thanks for comments, but unfortunately its rusted in bottom corner so not really repairable... and thanks for the ebay link, may be the best option!

Anglia Radiators in Cambridge have served me well in the passed. The replaces my 2002 Tuscan for £150.

They also work on a lot in vintage car and aircraft rads so can be busy
