This winter's source of amusement will be replacing the exhaust manifolds on my S3C. Whilst I'm looking forward to the smell of Plus Gas and the snapping of bolts I do need some advice on whether the stainless manifolds from Racetechdirect and ACTproducts are the same product. If not, which vendor should I use? At £450 plus VAT Racetech's offering currently lists as £37 less than ACT's manifolds but before the "Scrooge" in me wins over I would like to know how the two compare for fit and quality.

Many thanks,
Dave

After you've practiced on yours, you can come and do mine. Those bolts don't look like they've been out in 26 years..

Dave, are you quite sure that you are comparing like for like?

The S3c manifolds are different to the S3 items, i.e. they are shorter to allow for the cats ( or decat pipes ).
Similarly the "hockey sticks" are also shorter on the upper legs of the S3c installation.

Thanks for the feedback. The car is a decatted late '91 S3c (with hockey sticks replacing the cats). The manifolds have, of course, retained their lambda sensors. The ACT s/s replacements are specifically for The S3c and S4 and Racetech's site quotes "TVR Exhaust Manifolds PAIR for Cat cars with Lambda hole , 2.9 V6 , in Stainless steel ,Sold as a pair, Please allow 7 working days. Contains 1 x S29S 10064, 1 x S29S 10065". Both therefore appear to be the correct fit for the car - unless someone knows different of course.
