Bye bye my wonderful V8S
Discussion
Hi,
yes it´s correct, the wonderful V8S will learn some german words.
After around 600 troublefree miles she arrived in my garage.
She spent the weekend at the Oldtimer-Grand-Prix Nürburgring among the other TVR´s at beautiful weather.
Four new tyres are ordered for pleasure miles around black forest county.

Makes me feel so nostalgic. My first TVR was a (new) Taimar for which I specified Ford black cherry, with cream of course. It was restored about a decade ago in Switzerland then seems to have vanished, my daughter who is proudly displaying one of the chromed rocker covers is 39 today.... Later I bought a new S3C for which I also specified black cherry, sadly written-off by the subsequent owner. Superb colour (although it looks a bit muddy in these scans of pre-digital photos from my albums).

Amazing - that answers a question which has been around for a while.
I'd always understood that there were 3 S3 in this colour and I have seen Jacksocket on here who has one living in Yorkshire. Someone did tell me once that there had been one up in Aberdeen area, but I was never able to confirm.
Shame that its written off, such a beautiful colour.
(Sorry for the thread hijack)

My S3C was bought through the TVR Centre in Barnet as I was working in London at the time, and they sold it on for me with low mileage to (I believe) someone in the Home Counties -- not Aberdeen though. It was written off on ice the following winter (1991/92 from memory), so the new owner was probably trying quite hard. All the documentation went with the car, and I have no record of chassis number etc. I have tried tracing the TVR plate (which I bought for the Taimar) through dealers, but they say "it's not available", so I guess that particular plate has gone to the great irretrievable number plate store in the sky.
I use an App, 'My Car Check' (others are doubtless available...), that can be used to instantly see what car is registered on any particular number or if, as in this case, the number is out of circulation.
Quite handy to identify unknowns, and also fun to see what's got your own initials followed by a 1 ! ...mine's a V12 Vanquish
