S3 Carpet job

Planning to replace the carpets as the next winter job. You guys have any experience with the Lakewell set, or any other recommendations? Thanks in advance!

I've fitted several of the D&C trim sets and have been very pleased with the results.

That was a Lakewell set (I think!) - it has been a while but they are still in good nick!

Or buy fabric spray to re-colour them if they are just faded due to the top being down all the time (it is an S after all)...much cheaper but probably not a nice as a new set... but worked for me...

On the "refurb rather than replace" aspect -- years ago I had a Taimar that needed some TLC in the carpet department as the previous owner was a doggy person. Lots of shampoo got the poo out, so to speak, and an electric razor shaved down all the scratched bits of brownish carpet, worked a treat. Occasionally shocked myself subsequently, when I found what looked like ginger whiskers in my razor...

Why not visit your local trimmer and ask him how much he'd charge to make you a set if you gave him the old set to copy? You'll have to take the old set out anyway so getting that copied means you know the new set will fit and you can get the job done exactly how you want.

Not a bad idea! Not so many of those locally around here (NL) though..
