Finally got around to putting all the ancillaries back on my engine (after taking it all out to fix the gearbox) and it starts 2nd time! Gearbox is good, new clutch is good... wahoo! Just have to put the bonnet back on and adjust the timing.
I'd forgotten how good they sound
