Fuel tank removal on a V8S - easy or body off?
Discussion
There is a seperate cradle at the rear - exhaust off, disconnect fuel filer & pipes, 4 bolts and it drops straight down. Theoretically. Thats a Haynes Manual description. 'Refitting is a reverse of removal'
This is the fuel tank cradle
There's also a couple of bolts through the rear of the cradle that I forgot - one in the boot (drivers side) and the other in the cavity under the boot where the fuel pump sits (passenger side).
I think thats it - but if not and I've forgot something its all reasonably straightforward.

Russ, yes the filler tube can be taken off.
If your tank is full of rust it can be repaired. I did mine a while ago and it's still fine.
Here's a report of what I did:

use advanced search and you can go back 8 years max
That's how I always do it, but it isn't working right. Go and try it. I've just done a couple of tests just in case it got fixed after I last tried. Tried different searches for Fuel, Paint, Rust, Indicators etc and all of them only return stuff from April this year regardless of the number of years you select.Forums | S Series | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
