It s my nephews prom in June and I have been tasked with trying to sort a fancy car to drop him off. It s a bit cheeky but would any local pistonheads be able to help out? Would be a short run from Iveston (consett area) to Lanchester which is about 3 miles. There s beer in it for anyone who could help out

  • edit to my original post - The prom is actually at Beamish Hall, but could do a prom goer drop off close by so its not too time consuming for anyone who could assist**

Investon to Lanchester? Quick road. Take about three minutes. I’ve only got a Golf Gti and a Ducati Scrambler. He’s welcome to a backa/croggy!

If you don’t get anything more ‘supercar’ I might be able to help with a Supercharged VX220. I was Dad of the year when I used it for my daughter’s primary school prom.

There aren't too many around now! I've only seen one or two in the North East in recent years.

I'm only 10 minutes down the road, near Whickham. Only headache is my MOT is due at the start of June... It's a pain to get through on emmisions and a nervous time for me. Planning to get it booked in through the next three weeks, rather than leaving it to the last minute this year.

We were sitting in a pub last summer when the local kids were clearly assembling for their fancy rides to the prom. Think Ferraris, Bentleys etc. the coolest thing we saw (and I think if the kids admitted it, them too) was a tuk-tuk loaded with be-tuxedoed guys. Brilliant, everyone loved it! Just an alternative…

I’m not far from there. Just the other side of Lanchester. Could offer my Exige if timings are okay. I’m away for a week in the middle of June for LM24. Feel free to PM me.

Cheers for the offers fellas but the brother has gone to the other extreme and booked a bloody Mercedes V class the nephew and his mates can share.
