Anyone comute to Bournemouth via Ringwood?
Discussion
As I'm moving to the new house soon I have the feeling my cycling days may come to an end with the increased distance. I've shy'd off the idea of putting 30 miles a day on the M5 and am wondering if anyone does the Ringwood to Bournemouth trek on a daily basis. I'm planning on an 8.10 to 8.15am entry and 5 to 5.15 exit. Anyone here fancy a fuel share?

I'm no use as I go the other way but where you moving to? I'm just outside Ringwood in St Ives area.
Snap, St Ives for me too. I'll look you up for a natter when I'm moved in.I've looked at the cheap car route and if it weren't for the additional insurance , service, tax and mot costs etc I'd be following that path. The thing is I really want to keep the M5 but don't want to labour it with boring comuter trips. The only options are: car share with somebody, get a better road pedal bike and risk Matchams lane death run, buy a moped or sell the M5 and buy a cheap to run dogifriendly estate and something cheaper than the M5 for the weekends / meets.

Is that the only route? Don't know the area that well
It's the most direct route into where Eddie works. He could go sort of Christchurch/Boscombe way, but it's a bit of a faff and traffic will be heavy.
It's a pity my friend just sold his 205 diesel heap for about £300, that would have been perfect for such a trip, a car you really didn't haves to give a f
k about.I'm in exactly the same boat mate, moving to westbourne in about 7 weeks and I'm sick of paying silly prices for fuel just to sit in traffic to and from work, plus it feels like a waste waking the M up for it. I'm thinking a cheap diesel runaround , very interested to know about this car share website though!
Looks like I won't be bumping into you on the way to and from work Haha

I registered on the site today and have had no responses to my enquiries so far. I will miss our twice daily meets shanty.Looks like I won't be bumping into you on the way to and from work Haha
Looks like I might be going down the cheap runner route after looking at the Admiral Multicar quotes for a 3rd car. Brought my £1250 single quote for the M5 down to a total of £1440 for the M5, my missus soon to be bought 2009 320d M Sport Coupe and a 2001 Focus deisel estate for the dogs. My M5 was £500 cheaper, the wifes was £200 cheaper and the focus was circa £200 in to insure. All fully comp. Seems to be the way forward. 65mpg on the Focus too! Result!

Plenty of sheds out there for less than a grand. The focus estate I'm eyeing up is only 900 quid. It seems the more cars you have on the admiral multicar policy the cheaper it is. I'm not sure what the limit is though.
The multi-car policies really pay off the more you have. I don't think they do have a limit. Currently got 5 on one policy! Gassing Station | South Coast | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
