We are quite lucky, our immediate neighbours are fairly chilled with the noise... But the ol' duffer over the road had a gripe again today after a bit of fleet shunting early this morning...

To give you an idea, this is a winter start up with (unusually) the cars outside (rather than in the garage).

The biggest problem is when there are Breakfast club meetings or similar and I refuse to leave the quattros at the front of the queue.whistle

When I was building my 205 GTi-6 track / rally cars a few years ago my neighbours really didn't like me. Straight through OMP exhausts are ace for breaching the peace, but not so good for making friends.

i live in a block of flats on a quiet road... when i went on the hants run last year, with straight thrus hooked to the 8ltr, me and a pal pushed the car out from the front of the block (out in the open), half way down the road before starting, then straight off to an area i wasn't going to get lynched to warm up. to keep prying eyes off on the night before, the car was covered over with a sheet and tied down through every possible eye hole as well as having all the security systems activated (not rare for a few saturday night partygoers to head home along my road). i don't go on many early morning runs anymore partly because i don't want to upset 9 sets of friendly neighbours. out of sight, out of mind

No nearby neighbours (closest are 1/2 mile away) but still managed to piss them off. Full bore starts with no exhaust can be quite loud, apparently evil

No, Honda is very quiet, but then again the Mini hasn't started since I moved here, so they've got that "surprise" to come biggrin

I did notice a couple lights come on when I tried (and failed) to reverse an F430 into my garage about 2am but no comments from anyone as I have only been there a short time.

TBH depending on time & how long they are running for I'd have an issue. No point leaving a car ticking over for the sake of it. I love cars & those but I also appreciate that not all others do!

You are best off warming the engine by driving gently.

^^ I've always been told that, stick to below 3k and drive it so it warms quicker

Never had any complaints but only just got my eisenmanns fitted, in the grand scheme of things compared to tvrs and the above quattros my car isn't too loud

Never had a complaint be it coming home at 3am or heading off at 7am for goodwood on a sunday morning. Car has got quieter since new exhaust as it rusted away, last read 97db at Brandshatch...

One of my neighbours hates me as I have the best free space at our flats and when I get the Nob out the run around saves it smile. Nearly had a big run in with him the other week. I reversed out one car and was getting in the other car to park it and he came in and took it right under my nose. I was close to hitting him. Lol

I have no parking issues!
Nor grief with the neighbours. I did actually speak to them prior to buying this.
