Popping down to Westovers in Poole on Saturday to have a look at an Abarth for the Wife, any recommendations for somewhere to eat in the vicinity, or on the A31 road from Southampton etc?

Thanks

My knowledge of poole is minimal, but we past this place on the way down to poole quay

http://www.millerandcarter.co.uk/millerandcarterpo...

might be worth a look.

I gather M&C are quite nice places to go for a meal

Ah, my error, I was thinking of the Ember Inns.

That always used to be good when it was a Beefeater.

If the rules are the same everywhere even Ember Inns accept kids now.

Interesting, when the Horns at Dudsbury changed from a Brewers Fayre to an Ember Inn they specified no kids, so we stopped going. It wouldn't surprise me, that place was always full of families, they must have lost money hand over fist, at the time I thought it was a naive move.

Could be a local rule, but certainly the one Ember Inn I know of now allows the little mites.

Little detour in to the forest to The Red Shoot. Or, pop onto Poole Quay and go to The Custom House...

The Miller and Carter Steakhouse at the Mountbatten Arms roundabout is actually one of my favourite steak houses in the country, believe it or not. Ive been there a dozen times or more and its always been brilliant. Go for the rump steak over the other cuts as this seems to be a speciallity of theirs. Also, the iceberge wedge with blue cheese dressing is to die for. I always add the 1/2 rack of ribs for a £5er. Very good value too and as ive said, its always been reliable for great food.

Thanks for the recommendations for Miller & Carter all, Donna and I shared a Chateaubriand between us and my little 'un had the kids rump steak, very nice it all was too.

Oh yeah, and Donna also bought this...............................

It's having a matching chequered roof and bonnet Scorpion fitted along with a Monza bi-modal exhaust and we should be collecting it next Saturday!

Yep, just need the Clio Sport now!

Quite envious of the exhaust she's getting!
