I am intending to arrange an outdoor karting event at Thruxton for anyone and everyone who is interested smile I have never tried proper outdoor karting but the Thruxton track is apparently excellent and the karts do a genuine 60mph biggrin

I am looking at aranging this for one weekend in late September (exact date tbc) and would probably look at a morning session starting off with a mini hoon (of course!)

Two options are available:

Super prix

8 minute practice
8 lap heat
10 lap final

1.5 hours, cost £62

Grand Prix
8 minute practice
8 lap heat x 2
12 lap final (for all drivers)

3 hours, £82

For the sake of an extra £20 I'd prefer the latter, but will be guided by the majority. Any potential takers please post and say which option you'd prefer...

Count me in. Make it a Grand Prix, it's much better than the super prix, and the thunderkarts do a genuine 60 KMH wink

The track is excellent, and the karts do shift...

Even more fun in the wet, certainly need a bit bit car control to stay on the track!

Count me in.

Never been outdoor karting but heard great things about Thruxton. Haven't been to a PH meet before either so be good to meet some people/have a mini hoon.

I have contacted Thruxton and there are two options... we can either race at a weekend (although availability and times are limited) at a cost of £82 per head or meet at 6.30pm for a 7.00pm start one Tuesday evening for £69 per head. These prices are for the Grand Prix which the majority voted for. The event will last 2.5 - 3.0 hours...

I realise some people will be disappointed whichever option is chosen but please let me know which you'd prefer!

Would prefer a weekend, but only 'cause it wouldn't mean getting back from work in a rush.

Happy to go with the majority vote.
