Anyone know of any? My wife seems to think that there is somewhere nearby that is cheaper than the official long stay......

They've just built a new multi story by the train station - was cheap last time I used it when I flew to Newcastle for the day, on a Saturday was something like 4 or 5 quid for the day. Might have been an introductory offer, don't know?

The Long Stay is only £47.70 for the week which isn't bad. But SWMBO is insisting on doing the 'shopping around' thing....

You can leave it outside my place for £60 and I'll only charge £25 each way to run you to the airport. Shopping around done, makes that £47.70 look like a bargain biggrin

Sat £5.00 - Sun £5.00.

Weekend ticket available from 1200 Friday for £12.00

Ta!

We are off for a week, skiing, so the £47.70 is still a better option.

With this, and Andy's kind offer smile I reckon I can convince my wife that spending hours shopping around is not necessarily a useful activity!

How close do you live to a railway station Lee?

It may be worth investigating the price of a couple of return railway tickets and a taxi at your end. No driving on either leg. Which of course means you don't have to feel guilty about that last sneaky beer in the airport on the way home.

For those that don't know, the airport is on the Bournemouth / Waterloo line and has it's own stop.

Sadly, it will be about £50 return to the nearest station. And as our flight is a bit early, I think that if I ask a neighbour for a lift the second word of their answer will be 'off'....

Might be cheaper if you pre book - there is a dedicated pre booked car park on the right hand side going up towards the long stay. I work at the airport, one day having a wander about had this bloke ask me if he can just leave his car where he wants as he didnt want to pay. I told him he couldnt and he said but no one would know. Duh!! He had just told me. Plank.

Hah! Some people really are bloody stupid at times...

I've looked at pre booking and that is the option that costs £47.70. To be honest, the amount the bloody week is costing us anyway saving a tenner or so isn't a big thing. But SWMBO wants to look for cheaper parking.....

That would be your best bet unless the rail station multi storey is cheaper, there isn't anywhere else to park around there.
