Hi guys,

Anyone recommend a good one? Taking the Girlfriend away next weekend for her bday and staying in Brighton centre. Must be in centre so can have drinks and not have to drive...!!

Cheers

She'll eat anything mate! We both like mediterranean food, but not overly bothered with oriental / asian cuisine.

Id rather the place have a good atmosphere / service as opposed to some stuck up fine dining establishment that will rinse me in return for tiny portions of soufle shaved truffle on a bed of wilted cabbbage leaf....if you get my drift!

I like Cotes in Church Street, so central. http://www.cote-restaurants.co.uk/Cote_Brighton.ht...

The Breton chicken with garlic butter is really tasty. If you dine before 7pm you can get the £10 for 2 course meal deal wink

Portions are decent, although i would add a side dish to your main course smile

bowtie

Actually, just checked the meal deal and at weekends its only till 6pm. Still, if you can pay £10 for a burger in some joints, the same price for the chicken is worth it.

And anyway, imagine the favours from the g/f for taking her to a nice place wink Can't put a price on that hehe

ETA: Best to book, it gets busy evenings/ weekends

In Brighton it isn't the driving you have to worry about - it's the parking!

No particular recommendations but I suggest you could broaden your choice by taking a taxi down to the Marina where there are lots of restaurants cheek by jowl.

Try Googling 'Brighton restaurants' and 'Brighton Marina restaurants' (the floating Chinese restaurant is a bit out of the ordinary)
