Holiday Questions!

Hello everyone, this Saturday i am going on holiday to Bognor Regis with some family members. (We're coming from the Midlands). The journey down will hopefully contain a trip to the Brooklands museum however we are not sure which route to take, motorways and built up areas are best avoided. Anyone know the area well and could give me some non-busy peaceful directions to the museum?
While on holiday i would also like to do some car spotting, (yes i'm really that sad!), and i need to know the best places to visit to see something exotic or interesting. Goodwood springs to mind, and i've heard there will be a rather big classic car show which includes microcars as well. Apart from this i have no idea where to look. (and i'd just like to make it clear that this holiday was not planned for spotting, it's just a break away from my life at home with some loved ones! Lets not have any mockery about this, it's a serious question believe it or not!)
Last thing is general things to do, what's around that area that's worth visiting for the day? Already been to the historic dockyards unfortunately....

I live in Bognor and Drive to and from Guildford every day.
If you want a boring drive after brooklands then A3 then A27 to Bognor. To make it a bit more interesting I would come the back roads.

As for Cars, I think your coming at the wrong time. 1st Sunday of everymonth there is Goodwood breakfast club and there is a south coast pub club meet on the 31st.

Just for a nose around cars, Meridian Modena at Lyndhurst is worth a look, drop the family off to look the the 'quaint village' then loose yourself for a short time.
Bognor to Brooklands could be a nice drive, Bognor to Chichester, Chichester to Petworth, Petworth to A3 then a short blast up the A3.

Hi again, what i meant was directions from the Midlands to the Brooklands Museum, don't know if that's what you understand now? The most simple route would be down the M40 to London and then along the M25 but we don't really fancy that because it's going to be quite busy (being the start of the school summer holidays as well) and also because motorway driving is boring! Would like to travel quieter roads where the amount of traffic is slim. Then after the museum it's down to Bognor Regis which shouldn't be too much of a problem if everything goes okay. Hopefully that's a bit clearer now! Anyway, thanks for the replies chaps!
A visit to the Goodwood motor racing circuit will throw up something interesting on most days of the week. For instance there are very often car club track days in progress, you can go into the circuit for free and take a wander around the public area's, watch the cars speeding along the track and also in the paddock area, bound to turn up something of interest. You can always visit the Aero Club on the same site, it's open to the public, has a nice cafe and is a super spot on a dry day to watch the light aircraft land & take-off; a good time and entertaining for the cost of a coffee.
If you'd like to nose around some very, very tasty cars visit Targa Florio Cars (www.targafloriocars.com/) they're at Sidlesham about half an hours drive from Bog. You could incorporate this with a family visit to the Lifeboat station at Selsey, see and touch the lifeboat in it's boathouse over the sea at the end of a jetty - one of the best local attractions, seldom crowded and free.

I hate the M25 and I'm a Londoner but if I was coming down the M40, I would use it as Brooklands is so close to it. Just avoid the morning and afternoon/evening rush hour.
Hit the M25/M40 junction around 930/10am and you should get round to Brooklands pretty sharpish, well unless the Olympics have sodded it all up and certainly don't try the trip when the cycling is on.

Targa Florio Cars is a big warehouse/commercial huge shed set-up that stocks and sells very, very nice cars of the high performance and sporty variety. It's a small firm and the people are friendly and welcoming. I've popped in there for half an hour of car porn on several occasions.
They have a large car park on a quiet site - go, it's worth it.

Yes i will definitely have a look, those cars in the stock list look superb! Looked on Google Maps at the address but i can't make out where i'm going once i'm in Sidlesham Common, the science park isn't recognised using the search tool. Could you just give me some very quick directions once for when i arrive at the village please? They have a large car park on a quiet site - go, it's worth it.

Heading south from Chichester on the Selsey Road (B2145)you turn right at Sidlesham Common into into Lockgate Road , you can see this little lane on Google Maps, it's the location of Sidlesham Garage. Go slowly for about 100 metres down Lockgate Road, pass the junction with the even tinier Boxham Lane on your left, then maybe fifty metres further down on the left hand side, behind a hedge, is Walnut Farm Science Park, turn in there and you're in Taga Florio's car park.
It's a very rural and hidden location so follow the directions carefully.
