Was driving home tonight toward Ringwood on the Spur and just before the QinetiQ gate i spotted (only just saw it by its reflectors) what appeared to be a bicycle and something reflective piled up on the verge. Looked to me like a cyclist knocked down, but i hope it was only a bike and a bag. As nobody had stopped to assist (due to fast traffic and not seeing it do to lack of lighting) i called it in and it turned out nobody else had called the police to report it. Did anyone else see anything? Since the Olympics and our success in the cycling i see more and more people on pedal bikes on the Spur and i honestly think its mad, especially now the nights are drawing in. No verge / hard shoulder to cycle in and no lights......mental! Hopefully no harm has come to anyone but i really do think we need lights on that road as the cats-eyes are all useless / smashed and the white lines are so faded.

Oh!

Maybe no one had called it in as no one else had seen it! I would have not been able to leave it!

Was nigh on impossible to stop as the traffic was so busy. No call from the police to confirm or deny my findings yet.
