Having done trackdays, the Brighton Speed trials a few times and a couple of 1/4 mile runs, I'm popping my 'Sprint' cherry on 7th August. driving

Any of you fancy coming down to cheer me on or just laugh at my poor driving skills, be happy for the support/ridicule smile

Fubar, do you have any details for the organising Club, as I quite like the idea of entering as well

Are the regs on road / kit cars the same as full race cars, as I don’t have an external cut off or extinguisher fitted to that car

Nick, we're around that weekend. Are you on your own or are the family going?

Dave, it's the Brighton & Hove MC http://www.brightonandhovemotorclub.co.uk/events.p...

It may be full, but best get on to Tony Johnstone sharpish and ask smile

Hi Mark, probably be on my own family wise (Abi would rather pull her toenails out with a pair of rusty pliers than spend all day at Goodwood just to watch me make a fool out of myself for 20 minutes) but I will be there with a couple of other PHers. Be good to catch up if you have nothing better to do. smile

NB Videos of my runs for posting on PH is strictly forbidden... apparently paperbag

Thanks, I have just spoken with Tony who said if I got my forms in ASAP, I will probably get an entry

I just need to find out / work out if my car is eligible, i.e. cut off switch / ignition / sound levels / extinguisher etc. If it is, I will get my forms sent in before Friday

Hope you guys have a good day, looks like it’s not worth me entering after trying to sort everything out over the last 24 hours, as just done a sound test and it is 105.8db and I can't see Goodwood letting me out to play

I've been down to Goodwood to watch a few sprints in my time.

I could be tempted to enter one day.

What did you find that you needed to do Dave?

Just checking ignition position, belts and a quick check of the regs in the Blue Book to see if it was OK. Had a few messages from people saying it should be fine but the noise is just too much so no point in even trying, I may give Gurston Down a go instead

Do you have a noise meter? I'd be interested to get mine rated if so.

Not sure how far you are from GW, but if you pop up there on a day something is happening on track they will test it for you.

If it makes you feel any better my Cerb pushes out 112dba. Hence the necessity to purchase trackday silencers hehe

Yes, I bought it when I was building the car so I knew what the noise levels where for the SVA, you are more than welcome to borrow it

How did everyone get on?

I was pleased to get my fastest time ever at Goodwood, 105.07 which was good enough for second in class.
