Smart Paint Repair
Discussion
Is there anyone in the South Coast region who can carryout Smart Paint Repairs, I left my car in one of our pub car parks yesterday and when I got home today realised that someone had drove into my car leaving some scuffs on the front bumper (and decided not to leave a note to tell me!!)
Nothing too major just needs a repair, I think most of the small scratches will T cut out but it has gone down to the plastic in a couple of places – pics below

If I'm allowed to recommend myself, I would be able to repair that for you.

I have used StJohn (AutoBrite) a few times for the family wagon. Does an OK job for an OK price, spends his time, takes care, just what you need really for a bumper scrape. I would not use him for my main PandJ, cos I am very anal.
I would just like to add, some repairs will never be "perfect" especially in cases where a previous repair has been carried out covering an area larger than the newer repair. A Smart repair is carried out within a panel and needs to be blended in to sometimes, less than perfect, un damaged areas. It is increasingly difficult if the customer is not aware there has been a previous repair and on examination, detects faults which were already there and not part of the repair you are carrying out.Edited by sadlerj on Monday 23 January 11:09
I have repaired many " pride and joys" and for customers with a discerning eye equal to mine, but sometimes you can only work with what is available!
Not every job is suitable for a smart repairer working in less than ideal conditions, but a simple bumper scuff on a top end car will be more sympathetically repaired with a localised, blended smart repair, than an unnecessary full bumper respray.IMHO!

No worries, thanks for the reply
If I posted up a photo of the wing of the wife's car can you tell me if it is 'paintless dent removable' or if I need to get it to a body shop? Obviously no guarantees expected etc., just want to know if I am wasting my time trying to track someone down.

Yes, no problem at all.
