They're meant to just be on when the variable speed limit is in force.

I say "throw the book at you"...... at least you weren't overtaking while the cops had a hand held laser. O, wait a minute that was a few years back!!
Funny as hell... and you didn't even bother to be waved in and just pulled in of your own accord. You were lucky then.... I recon you'll be lucky again and i'll even cross my fingers for you for a whole 10 seconds.

I would have a nice pile of congratulation letters if they were constantly live. You should be more worried about the two nice officers that like sitting on the hard shoulder with the camera hanging out the drivers side window.

Interesting, much watch out for these. Secondly, has anyone noticed the amount of Police on the Edinburgh Bypass of late?

I've noticed a lot more traffic cars on patrol and a lot more officers out with the speed gun in the past 2 months.

I have. One can only hope they're looking at the quality, and not just the velocity, of the driving. Impossible to pass anyone doing more than 50mph between Gogar and Dreghorn these days.

Saw them last night in their X5 with their speed gun pointing down Dreghorn slip road. (You wouldn't see them until you looked in your rear mirror) nono

They've taken to doing the same thing on the A1 at the Macmerry junction in a 5 series. I've seen them standing out with the gun in Inverkeithing, Largoward and Crieff all in the past 2 weeks, previous to this I can't remember the last time I saw a police person with a speed gun!

The thread on S,P & L seemed to indicate that they are off until you go through them at a really anti-social speed and then they operate. The guy posted there that he was flashed in his M5 - but he was caught at 142mph!!!!

Not Newbridge, I should say...
