Talisman Security
Discussion
I am sure many of you have already seen this, but thought I would stick it up for those of you that haven't!
Looks like a couple of young kids playing on their skateboards in, what looks like, a deserted car park at the talisman building on houlburn street.
Seems to be the hardest security guard in the world, when shouting at kids...

Give him a break. The last thing he needs is to lose his job. How would you like to work for the pennies he has to ?.
So he's been a prat, haven't we all at some point in our lives ?.

While I appreciate the sentiment, he's so far across the line of acceptable behaviour he isn't even aware of its existence.

Quite apart from his behavour being unacceptable, he is guilty of gross stupidity allowing himself to be filmed acting in a threatening manner (possibly committing a criminal offense) and while I don't think he mentions Talisman, it will not do much for their public relations employing someone like that.

If his attitude was that this was all correct and he'd do exactly the same again then I'd conclude that this isn't the best line of work for him and take appropriate action.
If he was contrite and, perhaps, pointed to some difficulty in his personal life which was affecting his judgement then I'd take it from there. Maybe some time off to sort the other stuff out might be just what he needs.

I have just watched that again.
WTF, I want to take you by the throat and smash your head off that wall, what sort of thing is that to say to anyone, let alone some kids.
If it was such an "issue" with members of the public entering the site, the stairway should have gates to prevent anyone entering.
I got sacked from a job many many moons ago for telling an oil company employee to go f
k himself, after being on the receiving end of a tirade of dogs abuse from him. This security guards feet wouldn't even touch the ground if I was his superior, out straight away.

Would you have that talk before or after you chewed him out for creating such a bad PR situation ?

The s
t storm that will hit if this goes properly viral will cause chaos (and ridiculous amounts of paperwork), you never lose your cool, if you can't deal with a few little s
ts then you are in the wrong work.Security now days is Customer Service/Corporate Image first, HSSE second, paperwork third and actual security forth.
I have got away with some things a few years ago (pre SIA) that would have me bounced straight out now.
