Hi All

There is a car I am interested in at Kenny Dunn in Edinburgh(a grey 993)- by all accounts it's a lovely car.

The trouble is I am based in London and the car is in Edinburgh. Is there anyone local to KD able to go and have a poke around for me before I jump on a plane ? And better still, does anyone know the car?

Many thanks

May be worth posting as guest in PCGB webpage on Scotland section where you will get feedback on Kenny Dunn

I'm in Edinburgh at the moment and can pop round to Kenny's and have look over for you.

Stuart from SP Autobahn does inspections. Check his website or call him. One of the best on older porkers.

Good spot on the badge. What is the issue with the dials - I quite like the white...

Nothing.....

White dials were a very expensive and tasteful option on the 993 wink

I didn't think they were a factory option - maybe 'sonderwunsch' but going by the very understated spec of the rest of the car I'd think they'd be aftermarket. Then that means the instruments have been removed and taken apart....maybe it's just me that would worry about the possible ramifications of that. In reality, they are just so very aesthetically dubious though.....

No, they are a factory option, really expensive compared to standard black, and IMO having had both, think they look great smile

ETA only had a quick look on iPhone but looks like sports seats and upgraded sound system too.
Colour is fabulous on a 993, would have been my second choice, keenly priced too smile

I was at Kenny Dunn's today and had a look at this car - I'm no expert on 993s but it looked nicely presented with obviously new(ish) and good paint - just a slight break in the lacquer under the N/S gutter and one chip I could see on the OSF wheel. Didn't get inside or talk much with Kenny about it as I was there to talk about another car. Have a couple of pics if they'd help.

Ah thanks for all the help guys. It's a long story but it turns out not to be the car for me. People have been incredibly helpful though so ugh appreciated.

It never got to the inspection stage .Been told the dials where made by Techart for Porsche for early cars as where body kits ..but Porsche had a fall out with Techart and they moved suppliers .I agree the colour is very understated i had a Aventura Green and was not in your face .

I believe the grey 993 has a category D insurance claim in its history. What would be a reasonable discount off the asking price be for its history? I imagine you will turn away many potential buyers straight away and if purchased when you come to sell will it be "Oh thats been shunted"

One would have thought that any garage would have shown on their advert that the car was Cat D...
