A perfect evening for it, a huge variety of cars all being driven very well.....apart from the Focus ST and the Citroen AX who got they're wrists slapped!! it was very entertaining watching them though!

What were they doing?

Does a car need to be road-legal for a Knockhill trackday?
All their website seems to say is that you must have working brake lights and wear a helmet.

Your car doesn't need to be road legal, plenty full on race cars use these trackdays. As long as its safe and well maintained.

The AX and the focus were basically racing, running very very close together and had one or two trips to the gravel trap, the last one being quite spectacular as seen above! Was great to watch but Knockhill like to keep things safe for other participants, not like the old days when it was like high speed banger racing a lot of the time!

Dam, I was looking for something to do with the kids last night, would have taken a spin over to watch had I known this was running. Was it a TrackScotland evening?

Knockhill's own - Tuesday
Dreadnought - Wednesday [was very quiet and driving looked well behaved even if some of them were fair shifting]
Monklands - Thursday

Here's hoping the rain stays off tonight!

Anyone know what the deal will be with Sunday this week?

It's a knockhills own hot hatch day, they metnion that we will be out in sessions.

How many sessions will we get throughout the day? It's a full day's schedule.

Going out with Steph. She didn't have a good time of it last weekend so wanna try and get things sorted before the BTCC.

She's ballistic in the wet, macks it through corners at all kinds of angles. Need to get her confident enough to turn the speed up to 11 in the dry.

Anyone know the owner of this car?

I assumed it was a GT3 by virtue of the cage and the stance, but then I spotted the badge and the rear wiper. Be interesting to know the spec/cost of this as I've often considered doing similar (Creating a 996 GT3-a-like for half the cost of a real one). Be a fun project I reckon.

Check out Dom9's build. Exactly what he did.

Spent a fortune and got £12k back for it IIRC.

Spot on. So if there's 3 of us sharing the day then we might get 2 sessions each?

That was me taking the GTC for it's first outing. My first track time in 'my' own car as well. It was brilliant. A bit busy at times but otherwise perfect conditions. Spent about 90 mins. on track in the 2 hour session. The car was good. Will be better once modified. Looking forward to Sunday with the other guys. smile

Modest as ever Steve, we all know you're a "Ring" veteran. Well done to the Gumbaw guys, glad to see the car on track. smile

Any of going to bring it to Monaco next year? hehe
