Knockhill Driving Experiences
Discussion
Who has done any of the driving experiences at KH?
I have one, completely forgot about it till I went to the BTCC at the weekend
I can choose from the single seat and the rally experience, and really can't make up my mind which one to go for!
Has anyone done either one or both of them? What one would you recommend?

I did the Knockhill Ferrari experience a few years back. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
4 Laps in a Seat Leon Cupra, then 6 in a 360.
As long as you were not a fool, you could go as fast as you like.
Search on Youtube for knockhill driving experiences, it should give you an idea of what to expect.

I did legends unlimited a few years ago. The morning was a lap or two with an instructor in a Seat then a few sessions in a legend but with the limiter set to about 9000 RPM. In the afternoon they take off the limiter and it's 18000 RPM fun. The drive home in my M5 felt very slow and clumsy.
Just had a look on YouTube for the single seater and rally. The rally track doesn't look like much fun unless it was wet. Looks like its all on the concrete as well!
The Seat and single seater looks more fun. But from the videos it looks like the single seater looks like it has some sort of limiter on it. But from the videos looks like the single seater is the one to go for!

I have done the rally experience. Good fun throwing around someone else's Impreza! They are all mid-90s age and were plenty fast for the little rally course they have set up - its all 2nd gear stuff. But the instructor i had was great, she explained the techniques really well, teaching the different approaches to corners, e.g. trail braking to keep the front tight.
All in all i got 9 laps i think, then one with the instructor in the driving seat showing you just how slow you really were! Good few hours of fun.

I know it's a different thing but I did the "Performance Drive" one last week, that's the one you do in your own car with an instructor. I got Steve Burns, he was really good. Thoroughly enjoyed it and learned a lot. Only thing was it only lasts about an hour. For me it was a great way to do my first ever bit of track driving. Keen to do some track days now.
I did the single seat racing car experience many years ago when I got it as a birthday present.
With no previous track experience I found it thoroughly enjoyable, was 5 laps in a MGF at the time with an instructor guiding you around, then a lap in the back of a box standard saloon with an instructor driving showing you how bad your laps in the MGF were, then you got loose in a single seater.
We were preached too beforehand that it wasn't a race, however as long as you didn't go mental they didn't seem to mind.

Enjoy. I have done the rally and the single seaters (was formula first cars when i did it)i personally preferred the single seater. just sitting (nearly lying) in the car with the rear tyres in the mirrors was great.
it was so long ago it was 6 laps in an xr2 ffs followed by the single seater.
