My dad is looking to get one, and he's been struggling to find one in the specification he wants.
Ceramics are a must for him, and he thinks that the lift kit is essential too, but so many people I have spoken to have said if you can't find one with the lift kit then you'd be better off just buying one without and replacing the splitter whenever necessary.
Does the one you know of have the lift kit and how does it handle the Scottish roads?

A car like that shouldn't be bought for Scottish roads, it should be bought to hit the motorways and visit tracks down south or the continent during summer.
Lift kit on a Superleggera I drove was great and I'd have to have it if I bought one,
Ceramics are a waste of money on a road car and track cars other than full blown endurance race cars.

I don't have a gen II but have a gen I without the lift kit and get by fine. I have the cup splitter (lower than standard) and it catches on some speed bumps (the biggest ones) but other ones I just take at a 45deg angle and it's fine.
I've had mine 2.5 years now and am just away to replace the spliter, £120
Me personally, I would get the colour/spec you want and not worry about the occasional scrape, you get used to it
Cheers,
Martin

Id say that a 997.2 GT3 Clubsport with as many extras as possible and not running cups would be the best option. Lifting and PCCB are just things that make it potentially more attractive come resale time to the SE market which is important. The RS looks epic but its a lot of extra cash and probably too much for public roads. There is a good book in WH Smith about GT3's which costs about £6. It will tell you everything you need to know about all of the GT3's and all the variants.
AFAIK its got every extra as I considered it myself when it came up for sale last year at ADA, its black with black wheels and deleted graphics. It will probably be up for sale/traded in the future (no idea when) for reasons stated above (hence my view on the matter) so look out for it.

Would you be willing to put me in contact with the owner? It would be nice to chat to him and also discuss the car to see if it might be suitable...

Ahhh forget that last post, I see you have already considered it on the porsche forum FYI the pork system is s
t compared to aftermarket !!
That is something I've been told, but unfortunately my dad is a bit of a purist so if any kit was to be retrofitted then it's unlikely to be anything other than official Porsche.
