Where to transfer cherished plate? Glasgow.
Discussion
Not anymore, the Glasgow DVLA office closed on the 13th Dec 2013. The office may still be open but not to the public.
As far as i know... the only way to do it now is to send off the certificate to swansea with relevant details filled in, along with V5 and MOT cert. Takes up to 3 weeks apparently, i'm waiting on one back as i type.

If it's on a retention certificate you might be able to it at the post office now.? I know that they are doing alot more DVLA processing work now the DVLA offices have closed.
No they still wont touch it at the PO, they are doing a bit more, but not a great deal to be honestRobert Burns said:
Its a 4 - 6 week wait on the DVLA in Swansea for plate tranfers.
Depends what you mean, it happens to two stages.1. MOT/Tax and plate authorisation
2. V5
Stage one should happen in a matter of days...however it's not always the case.
DVLA are useless, the system is dated and they are very unhelpful.
The automated messages state stage one can happen in 2-3 calendar days but when you call them after 10 days, they say..we would never do that..
Oh the list goes on...waiting on 3 to come back just now and not going to plan at all!
They not wrong here... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-scotland-bus...
