Anyone seen the Aurora tonight?

Still not seen them yet at 34 
We went to Iceland 4 years ago over new year with the hope of seeing them, but no joy as it was too warm. You could see the green light of the northern lights moving around, but all behind clouds. Those with cameras that had a long exposure (I think that's right) could capture it well, but that's not the same.
Anyway as it happens, last night I installed an app on my phone to alert me of there is any activity in the north east.
I believe up Banff\Portsoy way is good. Can anyone recommend good viewing points up there?

anywhere on the coast along there. My Mum grew up in Portsoy and we've still a house out there, I was talking to her last night and she was saying you could see them from the pub at the harbour in Portsoy if you're outside.
Aurora watch is a bit retrospective try this for quicker results.

You are looking for the line to go down and right to the bottom of the scale, to the stage it could rescale. When it starts to go down, it tends to keep going. Look back at the last 2days as a reference.
Also remember that you may not see anything at all, yes there has been a huge solar flare but if the polarity is wrong you won't see owt.
Likel y to be low horizon here, magnetic north pole is her Alaska at the moment, so that's the best area to see at. Get high, hope there are no clouds on the horizon and getr away from street lights.
But note, might not come to anything... My old man is a radio ham, uses aurora to bounce signal as so knows the signs, thus my knowledge... Hope this helps!
