We're toying with the idea of ditching the tent this year and moving to a small campervan with awning (2 adults + medium sized pooch). Does anyone know where we could hire one to try out of season (i.e. now)?

Needs to be a smaller sized camper since this is what we'd be interested in actually buying, and while i'd thoroughly clean it before returning, i don't want to be lying "no dog" when actually we've every intention of taking the dog! Part of this is to see how she gets on with travelling.

A few came up near your area from google however none really mentioned pets. Might be worth giving them a call tho to ask. I know this is too far out but this crowd used to accept dogs, they are updating their fleet tho so no real info up about the stock they have.

On past experience I'd give a massive berth!

£2 to hire towels, clearly hasn't got the hang of this hiring lark! (£30 at hertz / just go).

Joking aside this looks like the best outfit to hire from. Pet friendly and good vibes from the wording of their site.

Ideally we're looking for a slightly newer camper but it looks like they've given their vans the VIP treatment inside so doubt there's going to be much difference.

Thanks for the lead!

Looks a really nice van Phunk, but i'm one of the unlucky sods with a post 1998 licence. I can only legally drive up to 3500kgs MAM (unless i go do my LGV) :-(

It's van based, so you can legally drive it.

I can, I passed in 2005!
