Need help guys. Is anyone coming down from Aberdeen to Glasgow tomorrow (Wednesday), that could pick up a set of keys for me and drop them in to Hillington?

There's a drink in it and some fuel costs if required and my eternal gratitude.

Alternatively does anyone know of a courier company making that run tomorrow that could do the same?

Contact number for me 075055 21158.

Ta in advance,

J

Is it needed for tomorrow? Could you not send in the post recorded delivery next day before 11am?

Thanks al, Linlithgow sounds great. I could pick them up from there.

Could you do this tomorrow and how do you want to play it?

Al, we appear to have a problem.

I must have saved your number wrongly in my phone. Can you give me a bell if you get this before you get to Aberdeen.

This has got to be the best car site in the world! A real community.

I just want to thank all the guys who pulled out the stops and got me the keys for the unit in Hillington.

The story is that we are taking over a vacant unit from the company who was next door to us. They are based in Cheshire with a branch in Aberdeen to service the oil industry. They had the one in Glasgow beside me and decided to close it.

We are starting a new business and wanted to move the classic car business into this vacant unit. We were supposed to get the keys 9 weeks ago!! The guy for the management agency in Hillington went off ill suddenly and everything stalled. Then the lawyers for the other company said there was a problem with the lease, (not there wasn't!!!!). Then it was Christmas and everyone went on holiday. I finally lost the rag with all of them yesterday and demanded the keys as both projects were grinding to a standstill. They agreed to give us the keys to discover they were up in Aberdeen!

So when I put the original post up it was in desperation as I couldn't get anyone to pick these up and the other side were reluctant to post them. Haggis hunter (al) very kindly agreed to bring them down as far as Linlithgow and asked me to text him the details of the company. He said he would be there around 11am to pick up the keys and meet me at 2 in Linlithgow. I sent him the text last night, but had no response to a further 2 texts and a phone call. At around 11 this morning a total stranger sent me a text asking me to stop texting him as he didn't know what I was talking about!! I had the wrong effing number in my phone!

I phoned the company and told them I would come up myself for the keys, flew round to the filling station and topped up the Audi, came back to the workshop to organise a few things before I left, to discover a voicemail from Graham on here saying he had a mate up in Elgin just about to come back down to Renfrew.

His mate Lewis phoned back 10 minutes later to say he would be in Aberdeen in about an hour and would pick up the keys and bring them to the workshop!! Fantastic!!

Around 15 minutes before he was due to arrive in Aberdeen, the CEO of the company phoned to say that one of his female staff had gone out to an appointment with the keys in her handbag and he was trying to trace her...WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At this point I went outside and looked up at the sky just to make sure there wasn't a giant finger pointing at me with a death wish. As it turned ou the keys were there for Lewis and he turned up at the workshop around 4 in his hot Clio resplendent in a PH T shirt.

I spent a few hours tonight organising the unit and moving stuff and we are now getting somewhere.

So, once again, many thanks to Al, Graham, Lewis and Ave for making my day.

When we finish kitting out both these workshops we are have a humdinger of a launch party and you wil all be invited. Free food and drink and tasty women, etc.

I'll be at the Classic Monte start in Paisley tomorrow if anyone is coming. See you there.

Once forgot my house keys on arrival at work in Aberdeen.
Easy solution found was for my son to pop down to my the local train station, next Aberdeen train my son handed the conductor a £10 and the keys who then handed the keys to me at Aberdeen station.
