Long Weekend Hoon Route & Hotel rec's please

Hi All
Instead of heading to Le Mans this June, a small group of mates and myself from Yorkshire are wanting to come up for a long weekends driving on some of the wonderful roads in Scotland, interspersed with some fine food and great Scottish hospitality in comfortable & relaxing surroundings.
We're planning on a starting point in or North of Glasgow/Edinburgh and probably finishing the fun there too.
I've done a few of the great roads, which I'd love to do again, FW to Mallaig, Pitlochry across to Oban, round the top on the A836, but I'd much rather take some of your recommendations. Had a browse in the Highlands thread too, but there's erm, lots and lots of stuff to sift through.
Car's will be of the low/stiff/fast variety, so don't want too many (1 or more) cattle grids & broken surfaces or roads with grass running up the centre of the road & no passing places between stone walls. We're after the driving experience more than stopping taking tons & tons of photo's.
Any help/suggestions would be very welcome & thanks in advance.

A lot of the roads along the west coast north of Glasgow are fantastic. I'm from Aberdeen so I'll leave it to a local expert to give specific sections. I recently did the route in the following image which was mostly a blast:
I would suggest missing the A9, between points D and F as that's pretty (very) dull. Pitlochry to Braemar (F to G) is fantastic, as is most of the bit between B and D so you could probably join that up for a loop from Glasgow up to Pitlochry, up around the top of the green bit (the Cairngorm National Park) then back across to the west coast from Aviemore.
Have fun, when you have your dates and route then why not post something in here, some locals (me for one) may be up for meeting up for some hoonage.

I can understand the grass up the centre of the road problem, but not quite sure what's wrong with cattle grids? There are lots here and I've driven 4 Caterhams over them thousands of times over 15 years.

Google bookmarks are great, but I'd be even happier if you could copy them to TomTom Live as waypoints, like I could with Autoroute & the old PDA based TomTom.
The cattle grid thing is more a figure of speech regarding really bumpy roads, rather than avoid at all costs. I'm in a lowered 911, so will be fine most places as we regularly hoon out across the North Yorks Moors, but one of us may have a new Speciale thing, which he'll no doubt be sh!tt!ng himself about, or his 458 pre-trade in.
Some great options for routes, but I'm also looking for a great place to stay to use as a base or a couple of places to link together.

Apple cross looks good, but also saw a review about it being noisy.

Hmmm http://torridon.com ...there is an inn and hotel. Hotel just voted 13th best in the world by the Times, but expensive (obviously)... Many PH hoons use the Inn. Big safe car park too.Couple of the links, Fort Augustus & Torridon links not working for me.
