Aberdeen City Council
Discussion
Emailed the council yesterday to tell them that the gullies in my street were in a bit of a state following all the rain and asking if they could send a brush lorry round.
Nice chap from the cleansing department phoned twenty minutes later. He said that he'd been dong a bit of an inspection tour the other day, had been down my street and noted that it could do with some attention.
He reckoned a brush lorry request had been submitted and it probably wouldn't be tomorrow (today) but more likely next week.
It was nice to get the call but I really didn't expect anything to happen until I'd chased them a few more times.
Anyway, this morning, as I was putting my y-fronts on (one leg at a time, mind you), I heard what sounded like a brush lorry outside. Right enough, so it was and it went up and down outside the house three or four times.
The street is looking lovely now.
Good on you ACC.
I expect to receive at least one ill considered reply to this pointing out that if they can offer such a great service then they must be over staffed.

It’s good when that happens.
I must have a councilor live on my street. It’s always gritted at the slightest chance of frost. Another time, there was a very small pot hole that appeared and before I got round to informing them it was already filled in.
Just a pity more streets aren’t like that.

None of those. How I describe where I live depends on who I'm talking to. Sometimes it's "Old Aberdeen" and sometimes it's "Seaton".

The whole of Aberdeen is pleasant.

Kiltie - can you give me the e mail address you used please?
The road that I live on (not a major route but something of a morning 'rat run' is a right mess with the original pot holes rapidly becoming craters and the debris from them causing massive problems with grip, car tyres and potentially with paintwork and windcreens.
It's not a big job I suspect, but will go that way if left too long. A Aberdeen City Council 'fill and sweep' job will get it sorted.
Wait to hear,
Rgds,

I'm very thankful to the council and veeeeery impressed. They sent Stevie wonder round to fill the potholes round mine. He ignored the craters are the bottom of the road but chucked some black chewing gum at a rippled bit of Tarmac round the corner.
Thank god for ACC. I've had a few phonecalls with them including the head of roads etc and I've heard pretty much every excuse. A workmate is trying to get money from them after hitting the 'infamous' one at hazel head.
