Anyone had any experience of the above?

Brother in law is looking to buy a car from them.

Cheers,

Been around for yonks, a while ago they had a number of high end cars pinched in the one night!!

About 20 years ago , all the second hand car dealers in the East End all had very dodgy histories, especially around the Tollcross area, but many, inc Sherwood, seem to have survived!

Nearly bought an Alfa Romeo Spider from them about 10 years ago, got an independent engineers report done that read like War and Peace, car was shagged, but nice enough old salesman I was dealing with, very apologetic but no sale!

I used to work for Parks and Sherwood would buy some of the higher mileage Prestige P/x's. They were always nice enough to deal with but I did here a few stories about guaranteed finance at silly interest rates. I would buy a car from them but would do all the independent checks first.

Two minutes from my house and over the years they've had many cars I've been interested in but I've never bought from them. Trade in offers may make you wince but I guess it depends what you're buying/selling.

Also 5 minds from my house next to the gables pub. Decent enough stock.

Family has had some dealings and nice enough folk. Has a relationship I believe with another garage in Bargeddie. Forget the name of it now!

Again, I live locally and have looked at a few of their cars but never bought anything from them. Of late I have always been able to get a better deal for choice of car, purchase price and trade in price by going down only as far as Newcastle.

The other garage in Bargeddie which is related is called Kennedy Cars, same owners possibly. Kennedy Cars cars look a bit more leggy than the Sherwood cars.

Both been around for years which is always a bit of a testament.

Many years ago Sherwood didn't have a great reputation but things have changed. Kenneddy Cars out towards Coatbridge is owned by the owner's son.

Around 6 years ago my dad bought a 911 C4S from Sherwood. The only problem was that the battery died a few days after we got it home but the salesman (think his name was Robert but could be wrong - he worked for Porsche at one point I believe) sorted out a new battery without any hassle.

All in all a positive experience.
