I did it in my Mx5, it was brilliant!

I got a guy called Andrew. He was great. Very calm, concise and encouraging. Like any trackday, make sure your pads/disc/fluid are good as they'll take a beating. When I was out, there were only a couple of other (very) slow cars out so it was more or less like having the track to myself.
Enjoy it! I will hopefully be doing it again in the not too distant.

Did this last March in my RX7. I had Andrew as well. It was fairly empty on the day, so we did about 95% how to go round the track in the quickest fashion and 5% how to go round the track in the most sideways fashion.
It was tremendous fun, and an eye-opener (and starfish-closer, if I may be so crude) when he got behind the wheel. I think you're kind of insulated from how fast your car can be when you're doing the driving.

Worth its weight in gold. Also dont discount getting tuition on trackdays either. But if your not ready for that private session is good. I have done tuition on trackdays regularly on Trackscotland or SIDC trackdays. What i found very useful was say 30 mins at start of four hour session. go practise, come back and have 30 mins at the end. Brings on your driving so much more, hugely satisfying when you get it right, plus the addage of space, i discovered just how capable my car was. Moreso knowing how the car behaves when you really push it or in a circumstance beyond your control on road. Its all good. I will be doing the same shortly when the new chariot arrives.
As an earlier comment, your pads, fluid and tyres will take a battering. I held off buying dedicated track tyres, fluids and pads for ages. Mistake, makes the world of difference.

I've done it a couple of times, spending £125 on proper tuition makes you much, much faster than spending 10x as much on modifying your car...!
But you spent in the 100x magnitude mister vettel...

If only we could get every driver in the country to that Lefty, we'd cut the accident rate in half, because it also makes you much, much safer.J

Thanks for all the replies guys. I'll definitely get this booked when I can source an extra set of wheels (don't want to take the current new tyres on!)
They'll be fine, you're only doing 25 laps anyway. Unless you do the tuition in Saharan conditions on winter tyres and/or drive a Veyron I wouldn't worry. So long as they're decent quality you won't really wear them any. I did mine on Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas which performed very well on the day. Just get it booked and do it soon, you'll want to do more soon so that way you'll have plenty of summer (I know) left.ETA - you only do up to 10 consecutive laps at a time too, then you pull in for a bit of a chat and to let the car cool down. I found it was my brakes that faded towards the end of the 10-lap sessions, not the tyres.
