Put the radio on this morning, usual station. They're playing what can only be described as utter tripe.

Seems to be branded as Xfm now? Lasted 15 minutes and switched it over to clyde1 of all things! (Because I like listening to adverts)... No different in the afternoon.

*sigh*

They've been bought over. All of Real has I think.

Lot of pish, retuned mine to the static between channels instead!

I used to enjoy Real when heading south for the weekend. It was possible to puck it up south of Perth I think.

On a Friday evening, I liked a football phone in show with Alan Rough and another bloke. I always wondered if the other bloke was the same fella as those spoof phone calls like the one to the taxi firm ("you just called me! ... I know who you are!").

The other thing thing that sticks in my mind about Real is "The Bobby Song". Does anyone else remember that? I can't find it on YT.

Just get DAB and stick Team Rock/Planet Rock on.

Problem solved.

Having hoped that maybe XFM would revert to a similar playlist to Real XS i find I'm wrong, i wonder why someone buys over a rock station then changes it? Looks like i need dab radio now frown

Are there two Real Radios? The one wife insists on listening to has "Heart is coming " all the time...which sounds awful.

My only regular Real radio listening is in morning on bus to work no change yet

Had it on earlier in week late afternoon sounded like an anonymouse "English" based station

What happened to "Local" radio

Just the one. Being rebranded as Heart very soon. More networked easy-listening guff sadly. Thank god for DAB radio.

Oh great ,Will Young played even more often then frown . Im a Radio 2 type but wife hates it,I hate Real,so we have agreed she gets hers in the day & I get mine at night(radio that is you mucky minded lotbiggrin)
I listened to Century in Manchester when I lived in the North West, they got taken over by Real and all the good stuff they had(eg Terry Christian, even Jeremy Kyle doing a very rude but quite funny late night confession show)got taken off for MOR dullness. So now more of the same
I googled Real XS,apparently they are on FM in Paisley,so sod all use over here

Fixed that for ye

Gave the station a chance, still utter tripe. Exacerbated by one of the presenters that constantly interrupts / talks over songs. Tom Russels show in the morning was at-least semi-good.

It finally justifies the cost of spotify imo. Might get DAB installed.

DAB is the wrong way to go Paul, it will soon be discontinued. Internet radio is the latest thing, most high end car manufacturers are heading this way already smile

Apparently, but then again I'm only spouting what I've been recently reading online, so could be bks!

Does kinda make sense though, most things like TV and radio are huge via internet and growing rapidly, does kinda make DAB a bit pointless.
I can link my iPhone to my ICE and there's very few places you go that you don't get a decent signal now.
Think it was Jalopnik and Teamspeed I first read it on. The information came from the high end car manufacturers saying they're developing mobile internet ICE as DAB will be obsolete very shortly.
Anyway it was one of these comments that I can't prove but does make sense smile

You sure ist not FM radio you're thinking of. That's definitely on the cards for cancelling.
