Not too keen on doing it in my own car ATM… can't really afford to do track days in it tbh lol! But the Lotus one seems interesting, but at the price I think some first hand reviews are needed before I take the plunge lol! Maybe someone with first hand experience will be better placed to comment though.

I've done several driving expriences at KH, not the one with Gordon Shedden (although I have had "instruction" with him in the good ol days before he was famous and used to give the briefings etc on track days).
Have you done a lot of track driving? If not then perhaps you might not get best benefit from the one with Shedden unless you particularly want the "instructed by a BTCC champ" experience.
If you just want raw driving instruction you might be better with one of the other regular instructors (all of whom are very good) who arguably instruct around KH more often so are perhaps a better option.

Nah only done a couple of experiences, its something I really want to get into, but probably won't be able to get my own car for the track for a year or two (unless I sell the GTR, which I ain't doing).Have you done a lot of track driving? I'm not bothered about to whole "instructed by…" claim lol. I just thought that one looked the best lol!

You car insure your GTR for about £100 for the day. Do one of the driving experiences with an instructor for about £150 pound. There will only be about 5-6 cars on track. I done this in the GTR and got approx. 30 laps. This is the best value for instruction with a quiet track. Give me a call if you want any more details cheers

Not wanting to sound like a cock mate, but Sean Edwards springs to mind.World class driver in the passenger seat.

Whilst it would obviously be beneficial to whatever you drive personally I would find it more beneficial to do it in my own car as learning where the limit is, what it feels like and how it behaves will crossover to helping your on-road driving.

A session with an instructor won't introduce any noticeable wear. We're talking about 20 laps here, of which a few will be gentle sighting and warmup/cooldown - so think about 20 miles worth of hard driving at absolute max. You'll put more wear on the car getting to knockhill.KaiserDahms said:
why buy a gtr if you're not going to use it for its intended purpose? these cars were designed to be all out performance, it will handle a small track like knockhill easily.
Because I love the look of it and the acceleration + noise. I've never done track days and the last thing I want to do is damage my car on the track. I may track it eventually, but I would rather get some experience in other cars first and get used to driving on a track before I use the GTR on it. Plus like I said I'm saving for other things now so don't want to be spending in excess of 4k replacing tyres, brakes and fluids
