Japanse vehicle importers in Scotland?

Hi folks,

I'm in the market for an Evo 6 TME. Been looking around for a while, plenty for sale but huge variation in prices and quality.

I'm now wondering if the way forward might be to either import one myself or use a broker/importer.

Not an area I've ever looked into before, can anyone recomend a trustworthy Japanese car importer/broker based in Scotland - are there any?

Not exactly in Scotland, but North East of England just outside Newcastle so not too far away from the central belt. Have a look at http://jm-imports.co.uk/.

No experience but hear a lot of good things about them, few MR2OC members got their cars there and the owner is a general car nut with a bonkers Skyline.

Not sure if they are "cheap" but they certainly get good write ups and they have a lot of interesting stock coming through, might be worth a chat with them

Would recommend Jurgen at JM, a few friends have had cars brought over by them, from EK9 civics to 650bhp surpas

Is exchange rate not terrible just now for imprting from Japan?

I've been in touch with Jurgen who does indeed come accross as a helpful chap

Have to admit, I'd not thought about the exchange rate and it does appear to make an import less favourable at this point in time.

I'm in no rush, I'll keep looking.

Good one to deal with is Bullivants in Derby. http://www.bullivants.co.uk/
They will help the whole way through. Mainly deal in 4X4 and van,s but really helpful.
They have a Japanese contact out there all time.They do not deal in rubbish.

Presume you have been on the MLR to have a scout around?

If not then would advise it as that's where all the Evo chat happens.
