I do remember the bike service place there but I recall it being roughly where Majestic Wine is now so that's actually Auchmill Road as opposed to GNR which the OP refers to.Gramrugby said:
Your right it was Chequered Flag and it was owned by a Furneaux. I think he was the elder brother of the one who had the bike business.
I lost my Triumph Trident when the bike business which had moved to Dyce "caught" fire. Their insurance company never paid out.

That *is* actually GNR, only know that because I have pizza hut on my bookmarks... 
Auchmill road doesn't start until manor drive (I think)
