Brake disc skimming..

Anyone in or around Edinburgh who would skim brake discs either on or off the car?

I'm interested in this too, have a set of Jap import original discs which would be easily done and certainly a better prospect that the cheapo replacements on offer, don't know why we ever got away for re-surfacing discs, dislike the throw away society.

I can't get the map to work on the link. Where is bradburies? Port seat on is only about 6 miles from my house!

I got discs skimmed (plus new pads) a couple of years back to cure a vibration on braking. It made no difference and I still needed new discs and another set of new pads. Of course, maybe I got a bad place doing it or maybe something was fundamentally gubbed with the discs.

Next time I'll just go for new discs.

I've never been a fan of this and I am a little sceptical however as the discs are brand new 330mm split numbers..new ones will be a last resort.

If the discs are brand new why do they need skimmed, what is the actual problem.

There's a judder under braking like warped discs..I haven't had them off yet but ill take them off at the weekend and check they're properly seated to the hubs before skimming.
