I have an emerald plug n play ECU fitted to my cerbera I've heard that its easy to use and tuneable by yourself on the move...has anyone else done this at home and if so any advice would be more than welcome.
I'm only asking as I've recently trusted the car to a local garage for this work and after paying a large bill...I'm not impressed and I'm pretty sure I could have done better with a little help.

Did the garage you used have a rolling road. It is quite difficult to map the ECU correctly if they weren't using one.
As for doing it yourself, without any real time feedback from being attached to a dyno it will be a bit hit and miss as to any improvements you might get.
The one thing you don't want to do if you are on your own is to try and adjust the mapping on your laptop whilst actually driving the car on the road
A half hour session on a rolling road is not expensive and is the best way to get the most out of your ECU.

As for adjusting on the move...I can't text and drive so I don't think a laptop would be a good idea!!
