There are grants available for this type of work you need to use a registered installer
Annoyingly we discovered on a recent home loft conversion and new boiler it worked out cheaper using good not vat contractor rather than vat registered and Grand registered company
I'd bet money someone offering to do work using the grant is not doing it for your benefit
These guys administer the fund

Hi,
I own a plumbing and heating company and there is loads of companies out there offering different deals just now regarding loft/wall insulation, boiler replacements, replacement windows etc.
Look into any deals offered as the majority of them are through the green deal finance scheme, basically means you are paying for the work through paying an increased electricity tariff each month. Dont know too much about the window/insulation side of things unfortunately.
If you contact the energy saving trust they will tell you what grants are available and if the company quoting for the work is accredited to offer the grant.
My advise would be to be very careful and if the deal sounds too good to be true it prob is as i cant see the government offering any big finance incentives until after the election.
Just my opinion!
